Guide Training

Learn from experienced guides how to navigate the river in a paddle boat, an oar boat and an inflatable kayak. Learn how to pack for a multi-day excursion, prepare riverside meals, and cook using a Dutch Oven. Learn how to properly rig a boat, use a throw bag, set up mechanical advantages using ropes, pulleys, and carabiners. Practice navigating rapids, catching eddys, and righting boats, to ensure guests safety. Become familiar with Leave No Trace standards and the rules of the governing agencies, BLM and USFS. Whether you are looking to make guiding a career, or looking to improve your boatsmanship skills, this is the opportunity for you.
